Advanced Environmental Laboratories, Inc. Laboratory Bench Technician / Environmental Analyst (Fort Myers) in Fort Myers, Florida

Selected applicants will be given a comprehensive test covering scientific method, math, EPA methods, and laboratory information. Position will conduct wet chemistry/general chemistry laboratory tests making qualitative and quantitative analysis of solid and liquid materials for quality control, maintenance of environmental standards. Testing is done on drinking water, wastewater, groundwater, soil, and hazardous waste. May supervise other staff and coordinate workflow and schedules. Salary dependent on experience - between $30,000 to $40,000. Job requires a very strong science and math skill set. Must be comfortable working with acids and other chemicals, and working with complicated computer programs and laboratory instrumentation. Requires long hours of standing, working alone, and working with environmental samples in laboratory environment. This is a working / production facility - not a research operation - so volume of work is very high and individual workload is heavy. Using personal cell phones or tablets is only allowed during breaks for safety and production reasons.
