The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Emergency Disaster Services Warehouse and Fleet Coordinator for the Florida Divisional Headquarters. This position is located at the Disaster Warehouse, located in Tampa, FL. This is a Temporary position, expected to run through December 2019. Job SummaryPerforms routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work. Qualified, licensed and drives Salvation Army CDL-A large vehicles daily and transports equipment and supplies in emergency situations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of general building maintenance practices and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of The Salvation Army structure, processes and protocols for day to day operations. Warehouse and Fleet Maintenance. Ability to learn by method of on-the-job training including ability to follow instructions. Ability to perform routine and minor repair and maintenance activities of buildings, vehicles and grounds. Ability to use and maintain maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and community contacts. Ability to maintain a valid and current CDL license with proper endorsements for driving all Salvation Army pool vehicles. Ability to quickly deploy in emergency situations remaining deployed for a period of up to three concurrent weeks for conducting emergency supply operations as directed. Ability to gain and keep up to date the necessary certifications required by the position as stated above. Skill in safely operating all assigned vehicles and equipment. Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or G.E.D. Two years' experience driving large vehicles. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and CertificationsValid State Driver's License with valid and current CDL Class A endorsement required with Hazardous Materials and Doubles Endorsement (Hazardous Materials and Doubles Endorsement must be current or earned within first 60 days on job. Valid and Current Forklift Operator Permit or ability to gain within first 30 days on job. Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (50 lbs or more) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently.
