Lehigh Hanson is seeking an aggregate Plant Manager for our Scott County Quarry in Scottsburg, IN.

The Plant Manager is tasked with directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. This position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally-sound production of a quality product. This position reports directly to the Area Operations Manager.


  • Manage and direct operations at the Scott County Quarry

  • Build a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

  • Direct the on-site team of salary and hourly staff to safely accomplish the Company's business objectives.

  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and pursue improvements.in operational efficiencies.

  • Manage a solid maintenance program to ensure that all assets are well maintained.

  • Participate as a key member of the management team set on growing the business in the area.

  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget and responsible for overall P&L.

  • Participate in the development of a capital plan for the operation.

  • Represent the company in the local community.

  • Work cross-functionally with safety, environmental, sales, QC, labor relations, HR and other inter-company support departments to accomplish important business objectives.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree is preferred.

  • 5+ years production and supervisory experience in the crushed stone segment of the aggregate business.

  • Must have a solid working knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and an extensive understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment.

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong decision-making skills, ability to analyze various options and decide the best decision for the business.

  • Must have knowledge of state and federal employment, safety, and environmental laws.

  • Excellent communication, writing and time management skills

  • Proficient use of standard MS office tools.

  • Complies with all federal, state and local guidelines.

  • Experience of capital and operating budget creation at the plant level.
