Position Summary: Positions available as private/semi-private swim lesson instructor, group lesson instructor and or pool attendant supervisor. Applicants may fill one position or any combination of positions, based on experience.
Shifts are various mornings, evenings and weekends. (Flexible for private & semi-private lesson instructors).
Group Swim Lesson Instructors: Monday -Thursdays, (Fridays as needed) 8:45am-11:45am;
Pool Attendant Shifts: Weekdays 12-5pm or 5-10pm; Saturday 7:45am-2pm or 2-8pm and Sundays 9:45am-3pm or 3-8pm.
All positions report to the Program Manager.
Position Key Accountabilities:
When in a teaching role, provide quality swim lesson plans, record daily class attendance, communicate in a positive manner with feedback to participants and parents/guardians. Instructors must be in the water during class times. Prepare class certificates to give to each child at completion of session.
If serving as pool attendant, perform daily, weekly/monthly pool maintenance such as vacuuming and basic pool deck maintenance, maintain awareness of pool users and their actions, enforce pool rules and policies. Inspect, report pool area conditions and keep checklist updated.
Certification/Skills: Preferred if current lifeguard and/or Basic Lifeguard Certification and or Water Safety Instructor Certification, but not required.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (we will certify during in-service if not current).
Minimum Education: Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate by June 1, 2018.
Experience teaching swimming lessons and/or current/former collegiate or high school swim team. Experience teaching, leading or managing children. Experience as a lifeguard, pool supervision and/or pool maintenance.
Passion for helping people of all ages, enjoys the outdoors and loves the heat/humidity! Customer service skills an asset. Willingness to learn and be a team player.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or ability to move objects such as pool deck furniture, vacuum, lesson equipment,....
